This includes primary support for SQL and stored procedures, support for DBA, engineers, marketing, analytics and reporting. I am flexible and able to do database analytics and other tasks to do what is necessary to keep a database running smoothly. I am interested in project management and management of development teams as well. Experience ---------- More than 20 years working in the database industry working with Relational Database Systems. Thorough knowledge of Relational Theory and Object Relational databases. Additional experience includes application development tools and reporting. SQL, PL/SQL, postgreSQL stored procedures, e.g. plpgsql, plython, plperl, bash, *nix, C, perl, python Principle experience is with PostgreSQL, although I easily work with other databases. I have worked for Ingres, Illustra and Informix database companies. I have experience with Oracle and Sybase and MySQL. I've worked with complete product lifecycles of large (databases) and small (reporting) projects and owned and managed my own contracting business. Have recently trained with PMI instruction working toward Certification in Project Management (PMP). I have completed the Pre-Certification tests. Also recebt training includes completion of Pre-Certification for Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate. Pandora.com 2007-2010 Responsible for Reporting for Marketing, Business Development and Senior Staff, Senior staff relied on my daily reports to make pertinent business decisions. Critically important music royalties reports created and transferred. Complex mass marketing email data constructed. Business Development reports on vendors and devices created. Others reports as needed. General SQL, and server side functions in various languages. Part of DBA team. Worked with Apache Hadoop Hive report generation and queries. * Varlena, LLC (2003-2007) Provided multi-national clients with needed PostgreSQL expertise and database design, including short questions and large projects. Provided DBA and design support for PostgreSQL databases. Clients included Safeway (via NCR), BzzAgent, WilyTech, SCHARP, NOAA, Pandora and many others. Technical Manager and Lead for the Server Side C-API for Informix IUS. Managed team of 7 people and managed the team to develop the C-API. The team for the C-API included people in remote locations. This API was the only method to create stored procedures at the time. DataBlade groups depended on support from the C-API. * Nextbus Information Systems (2000-2002) Database Engineering Manager, Database Architect. Brought file based storage into PostgreSQL and engineered access to metadata. Introduced reporting engine and system (later called ere) to produce complex reports for bus agencies. Managed a team of 2 database experts. * Ingres (Relational Technology Inc. and ASK Computers) (1988-1993) Reporting Tools: Reworked character based reporting tools to add features and fix bugs.
